1984

The Schwinn Traveler 12 speed is the most popular bike in the Schwinn lightweight line.

Just a glance at its long list of features will tell you why. All three main tubes are chrome-moly. And both the rims and hubs are machined from light weight, aluminum alloy. This makes the Traveler one of the lightest bike in its class. The brakes on the Traveler are DiaCompe sidepull, with hand saving gum rubber hoods, for sure stops.
