SCHWINN PARTS NO. NOTE: NEW MODEL NUMBERS for all Schwinn Bicycles include one number- the last digit- which identifies the type and make of rear hub to be installed by the factory. Dealers should specify the exact hub desired on each model ordered, using the following number.

1. MARK IV SHWINN-APPROVED COASTER BRAKE.

4853 (36-HOLE) 4854 (28-HOLE) Torpedo type, used as standard on all Schwinn coaster brake models except Tornado and deluxe Tornado-unless dealer specifies -5 -6 or -7 coaster brakes-see below.

2. BENDIX MULTI-SPEED 2-SPEED COASTER BRAKE.

4892 (36-hole) 4893 (28-hole) 4867 Standard on all 2-speed models.

3. SCHWINN-APPROVED 3-SPEED HUB.

Standard on all 3-speed models unless otherwise specified.

OTHER BRAKES

Front caliper brakes - available at extra cost on all 26” and 24” middleweight 2-speed and coaster models for boys and girls, except H19 Deluxe Hornet. Includes drilled fork.
Front expander brakes - available at extra cost on all 26” models.
Knock-out front hub - with 120-gauge spokes. Available at extra cost on middleweight and balloon models.
Large flange front expander brakes - with 120-gauge spokes, Available at extra cost on 26” models.
Large flange front hub - available at extra cost on all models except Tornado and Deluxe Tornado with regular or 120-gauge spokes.

4. STURMEY – ARCHER 3- SPEED HUB.

4975 AW type. This time-tested hub now available at no extra cost on all 3-speed models –just specify -4 hub.

5. NEW DEPARTURE COASTER BREKE.

4850 (36-hole) 4851 (28-hole) Available at slight extra cost on all coaster brake models except Tornado Deluxe Tornado.

6. BENDIX COASTER BRAKE.

4858 (36-hole) 4856 (28-hole) Available at slight extra cost on all coaster brake models except Tornado and Deluxe Tornado.

7. SCHWINN-APPROVED COASTER BRAKE.

4861 (36-hole) 4866 (28-hole) Komet type. Standard on Tornado and Deluxe Tornado models. May also ba specified on all other coaster brake models-no extra charge.

8. ALL OTHER HUBS, AS SPECIFIED.

Includes Sturmey-Archer TCW, rear expander, free-wheeling and all others-just specify-8, and include exact description of hub desired.

EXAMPLE,

F18-3 is the model number for the Mark IV Jaguar with Schwinn-Approved 3-speed hub. If Sturmey-Archer AW 3-speed is preferred, order model number F18-4.

IMPORTANT,

3-speed and 2-speed hubs are optional only on models listed with such hubs-not on coaster brake models, Exception: 2-speed hubs are available at extra cost on the B12 Wasp, S73 24” Catalina and the S71 24” Hollywood model. No options of any kind on Tornado or Deluxe Tornado Models.

HOW TO ORDER

BICYCLE ORDERS-

Should be placed through your Schwinn Distributor rather for direct factory drop-shipment or for delivery from Distributor’s warehouse.

PRICES AND QUANTITY DISCOUNTS-

Maybe obtained from your schwinn Distributor.

SPECIAL DATING TERMS –

Are available at certain times of the year to Schwinn Dealers who maintain satisfactory credit relations. You may obtain full information from your Schwinn Distributor or write the factory.

MODEL NUMBERS-

Please be sure to show the complete model number including the dash number suffix (-1, -2, ect.) to insure receiving the proper bicycle with the exact coaster brake or rear hub you want. For example, write “S11-3 Speedster” or S11-4 Speedster” – not “S11 Speedster w/3-speed.”

STANDARD EQUIPMENT-

Please DO NOT list items on your order which are standard on the model you want. For example, if you order “F18-3 Mark IV Jaguar w/front caliper brake (which is standard on that model) it may cause confusion in processing your order. We will not know whether you intended to order an “extra” and perhaps listed the wrong model number –or did not realize the F18-3 included a front caliper. Please list only the “extras” you want.

OPTIONAL EQUIPMENT-

When ordering “extras,” please be sure the items you want are available on the particular model being ordered. Make it a point to check pages 30 and 31 on Optional Equipment if in doubt.

COLORS –

Please order only those colors listed for each model. Check model color specifications in this catalog.

MODEL SPECIFICATIONS-

Shown in this catalog are abbreviated due to space limitations. More complete specifications for each model are available upon request.

ORDERS FOR REPLACEMENT PARTS-

Please show complete model number as well as part number and be sure to specify color for painted parts. Refer to Parts Catalog for more complete information. Please place parts orders through your Schwinn Distributor.
